Injustice done to Ami
Injustice done to Ami is basically a section where I shall discuss some of the things that are incredibly biased towards Ami Mizuno a.k.a. SailorMercury both in the manga and anime series of Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (BSSM). If you disagree please do speak your mind by sending me an e-mail.

The people who drew the anime version of Ami just love to give her a bad hair day, not to mention that it looks glued to her head! Due to that her hair looks too big for her small face and it gives the impression that she is wearing a wig. In the manga however, Ami’s hair is wavy and looks soft to the touch which in turn makes it look real and nothing like a wig.

Ami is always or most of the time one of the first to die in the series. It sort wanted to tell us that she is the weakest and most useless of the Senshi. Is this true and why does she has to die all the time, followed by the other Senshi except for SailorMoon? It is not fair in my opinion. Though Ami does have a low self-esteem now and then and the fact that her attacks are mostly defensive does not mean she has to be the first to die and is the weakest of the Inner Senshi. Please bear in mind that SailorMercury is as important as Usagi because she helped the Inner Senshi numerous times in annihilating the Monsters-of-the-Day (MOTD).

   Her attacks
SailorMercury’s attacks may be defensive with a lot of strategies involved (such as finding the opponent’s weak points) but like I have said in one of my writings: You need defence and strategy in a fight. Without any kind of defence and strategy in a battle you are simply wasting time and energy fighting against your opponent.

Charging head-on in a fight against an enemy would not need much of defence but when more than one opponent is involved and you do not know of their strengths that is where defence comes into play. Defence is usually used to slow down your opponent while finding their weaknesses to bring them down. In doing so you do not waste energy in charging at your opponent again and again until you discover a way to defeat them.

It hurts me to hear that SailorMercury admits that she is the weakest among the Senshi in Season One and even without her SailorMoon would still win the fight. Of course this is true, but to a certain degree. Everyone underestimates SailorMercury’s true power, including Ami herself. Remember in SailorMoon SuperS season, the episode where she was able to stop the MOTD by freezing it and thus giving SailorMoon the chance to annihilate it? It was in episode 158 of the anime where Usagi and Chibiusa switched age. In that particular episode the Inner Senshi were not able to stop the moster, nor even lay a finger on it, but with SailorMercury’s Aqua Rhapsody attack the monster was frozen and saved the Inner Senshi butts.

Now do you see how important she is to the group and how strong she can be if she has much more confidence in herself? I truly believe that her attacks can be as offensive as the other Inner Senshi, just as long as she believes in her self and have total control and confidence in her powers.

I have seen real people who are very clever and have a low self-confidence just like Ami, but they do not dress horribly like Ami or look like a total nerd! God I want to kill those people in the animation team. In the manga Ami has more clothes not to mention they were all very beautiful and stylish. The anime however has Ami wearing the same clothes in almost all of the episodes. In the manga she does not look like a nerd who has no sense of style because we know that our Ami is a rich girl and though she is not the type to blow her money on expensive clothes I do not doubt that she knows how to dress to impress. The injustice that I am talking about is that in the Anime most of the Senshi have a really nice set of clothes except for Ami who has clothes that resembles that of the Stone Age.
